    kilt photos

I asked a more complicated version of this question in another thread...since then I have narrowed down my choices a bit and thought (hope against hope) that giving it another shot might yield more satisfactory results.

I am wanting to purchase an 8 yard 16 ounce kilt. I have narrowed down the choices to Stewart Hunting STA1916 and Scotland's National which Scotweb lists as STA5379 (although the STA doesn't recognize the number).

Does anyone have either of these kilts pleated to stripe? I have been looking at tartan "swatches" (digital) for months and while it is pretty easy to imagine a tartan pleated to sett it is much harder to visualize it pleated to stripe. And yet pleating to anything but sett can change the character of the kilt entirely.

I know it's a long shot but it sure would help.

Be mindful that there are two popular schools of thought on pleating Hunting Stewart to the stripe. The photograph above has the pleats showing the red and yellow stripes, but this tartan can also be seen pleated elsewhere to just the yellow.

I have a USAK casual in Hunting Stewart done to the yellow stripe and it is very nice. When I do a photo of the new Robertson Hunting kilt tomorrow, I'll try to get a good photo of the HS for you. The yellow really pops beautifully.
