    Todays funny episode.

One never knows how to start these stories so I will just jump right in. Every morning prior to starting work for the day I head to a local gas station to get a large diet coke and a cup of coffee for the wife. I have been going to this particular store for several years and the staff has gotten quite used to seeing me arrived kilted. Most of the time it is a non event, even with the customers that come in.

Today was a bit different of a story. After getting the items I was looking for I headed up to pay for them. Today there was a new young lass working behind the counter when I placed my items upon it. After glancing at the items to ring them up she cried....

    "OH MY GOD!!!!"

Looking back at her, somewhat bewildered, I asked "What? Is someone on fire??!!"

She then exclaimed "You're wearing a kilt!!!"

My response..... Wait for it...... "I know!"

After my response the whole place broke up in laughter and the young lass turned 25 shades of red.... What a great start to a Monday morning.
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

Nice. I'm sure she'll talk about it with the other employees and they'll tell her to get used to it.

Lol, great story. I visit a gas station down the road pretty frequently, but no one has mentioned my kilt yet.

I have had some interesting things like this happen.
It never fails to amuse me when a few people from a pipe band arrive at a fast food joint the workers there always assume you are some very Important people.

You are some Very Important People: you are customers. Their financial survival is in your hands.

Excellent response! Last time that happened to me, I spun around in three circles, staring at myself, and yelled "Where the h*** did that come from?!?!" I like yours better- simple and to the point.

    Thumbs up

The last time I got the " You're wearing a kilt!" remark , I looked down at my knees and said; "I thought these plaid shorts were a little drafty"

Since you hadn't had your caffeine yet for the day, there was that chance of not knowing. I've been there.
