Islay Spalding Kilt Pins
I was looking online for some original kilt pins that I could maybe get someday and came across this site since I'm not a really big fan of the sword kilt pin. I think she makes some fantastic designs and each one is unique to the person she works with. I haven't contacted her about prices and such since a custom kilt pin is way down my list of things to buy, but it's definitely bookmarked.
I'm curious if anyone here has any of her work. I'd love to see more of it.

Man, those are nice! But very, very pricey!
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

Oh Hamish...
How could a man with 90 kilts not own one of these kilt pins - they are amazing!

I agree with Splash. First class work, with a matching price. Oh well.

Wow. Very impressive work there. They look to be something that would certainly be handed down through the owners family.
I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature's ways of fang and claw or exposure and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow. - Fred Bear

That was my thought too. With the work and the uniqueness of each piece, not to mention having your input used to create it, you could essentially be creating an heirloom. I don't think this is something I'd buy 3 or 4 of, but I could definitely see buying one.

I was absolutely blown away at this one. http://www.islayspalding.co.uk/kiltpins9.htm. I'm going to require a commission from this artist. Not soon, I fear, but now on the list.

are my two favorites out of what's shown. Whenever I do get something, it'll be something along the lines of these two.
