Not the same old question
The Goodwife and I drove up to Wimberly, TX for the Market Day. We needed to get some more jelly, Texas pasta, and some cholla for knife handles. As the day was expected to be 98-100 I wore my tan UK and DKM t-shirt. As we approached one booth, the lady who ran the booth took a long look and said she was going to avoid the obvious question. She instead asked if it was any cooler than regular shorts. I told her it definatly was. Her next comment was complimenting the sgian dubh tattoo on my right calf. I explained that it was so I could be symbolicly be armed in situations when society frowns on actually being armed. Her final comment was that it took a man's man to pull off wearing the kilt. I thanked her and we moved on.
I got several nice kilt comments. Overall it was a well spent morning.

I got one of those compliments today. Aren't they great?

The Silent Treatment
I like positive comments too, but I also appreciate walking around a big box store, etc, and not having anyone say a word. To me, that's acceptance. They could be quietly admiring my kilt, or think I'm nuts. That's fine with me!
Kilt on!

Ask and it shall be granted. The tattoo draws more comments than the kilt ever does.

I knew it.
I WILL have one made as I find the idea simply genius!
I'll try to have mine colored and try to simulate a 3D effect, not sure if that would make matters worse, but your tattoo is simply fantastic.
Thanks for the inspiration.

I work with a girl who just had some ink and it was done without any black outline. And it really pops out at you!
