    JoAnn "Tartan"?

Recently purchased the attached fabric at JoAnns. I like the muted colors but don't think it's an actual tartan. Any input appreciated. Thanks

I couldn't find it through my searches. It looks to be asymmetrical, but could still be a tartan.

This looks a bit washed out from the flash. Sorry about that. Any other input? A tartan or no?

I would call it a tartan. (at least it follows the proper style of the named tartans) Yes it is asymmetrical (as are some tartans) but it looks good. It will make a good looking kilt.

Joann's is now carrying Polyester Rayon (PV). The setts are small like most PV material. I almost bought some, but my wife didn't like any of the paterns. I picked one out anyway but at the cutting table in Joann's I found out it was only 44" wide, so it would have cost $64 for 8 yards... oh well, I will stick with the 100% wool tartans from Scotland. Life could be worse, eh?
