I'm pretty sure this topic has been covered before and there are several sources for nice blades. Rab Gordon comes to mind as a good source for quality damascus blades http://www.rainnea.com/Sgian-Dubh-Blades.htm . The Salmon River Forge http://users.sisqtel.net/dgatwood has been mentioned. Hope this helps.

I might make you a batch of them in real nice damascus with some filework for a pair of those cool shoes you make. PM if that piques your interest at all. Of course you might not want that many of them, I dunno ?

I've used Caulfield before too. Good quality product and the price is very reasonable.

On a side note, as i found out in my copy of the anvil's ring that I got today, Howard Clark is demonstrating at the Guild of Metalsmiths Fall Conference in Hastings Minnesota , sept 19-21 So if you're in that area look up that ABANA chapter and you can see the artist at work making knives =P

In any event, that kind of soured me on them although I like the long tang and the narrow width.
