    New Kilt from the TKN!

Just ordered a 16oz Poly-vic Hamilton Gray from TKN.
Should have in time for NH Games in Loon. Now where to find some gray flashes????

    Jaeson,

I removed your duplicate post in the Contempory and Non-Traditional Kilts forum.

I'm curious about the weight of the kilt you just ordered

I know that Rocky, Pete, and a lot of our other Kilt Makers have been hunting for true 16 oz PV tartan. Is this what the Kilted Nation advertise it as? Do they note where the fabric is from?

Look forward to the pictures of your new kilt.

    Cheers

Thanks. I wasn't sure where to post. It's 16oz. I picked up a black casual 16oz poly-vic from TKN awhile ago and it's really nice. Good value. Nice heavy feel to it.

    TNK v. SWK?

The Hamilton Gray looks good; congrats!

Just out of curiousity, do you have any basis for comparison between the black TNK 16oz. PV and SWK's heavy black "shadow tartan"? I'm thinking about adding a "casual" kilt to my warddrobe -- preferring to keep my Geoffrey (Tailor) for special occasions -- and these look reasonable for the task: something that will look good, but not break the bank. (I figure ~$100 is about what I could justify spending on something of the sort.)

Cajunscot recommended USA Kilts, too, but they're more than I'd like to spend....

As for flashes, would this work? http://giftshop.scottishtartans.org/garters.html

Thanks for the info on the site. I really like the 16oz PV Kilts from TKN. It came out to about 114.00 with shipping. I should have it in 2-3 days. I have a solid black one and if they ever do a Davidson i'll be picking that up.

I have a couple of these 16 oz PV kilts. They are Gold Bros. kilts. And they do feel the weight.

There is a tag inside stating 65% PV, 35% Acetate. It's the acetate blend that bulks up the material and gives it the extra weight.

Is there some reason why 16 oz PV is unavailable? I mean, is it just a lack of sufficient demand, or is there some technical issue involved?
