My X-Kilt at Fresno LEO BBQ
Hello, Made my first major appearance in my 2nd X-Kilt (Thanks Alan) although it is somewhat modified from the original (you will see when I get the pics up). I tended the beer bar this weekend at a LEO golf tournament and bbq in Fresno, CA. There were hundreds of people, and it seemed fitting to go big or go home. I sported my khaki colored kilt and tan combat boots. None of my friends had seen the kilt yet, and many couldn't believe I made it. That's cool. Served up about 8 kegs of beer throughout the night and received tons of exceptional comments about the kilt. I even had a guy ask me to make him one (not sure if he was drunk or serious). Several guys told me that they thought it was a (insert name brand here). When I told them that its kind of my original design they flipped. The ladies dug it too. I wanted to say thanks to those out there who gave me ideas of what to say when asked the proverbial question. I used several different comments throughout the night. Plus, when I got the comments about the "whose the dude in the dress" or "skirt," I simply stated, "it's a kilt actually" "Coors or Coors Light." Thanks again to you all!

If they were drinking Coors Light (or even Coors) they have no high ground from which to be calling your kilt a skirt
Note the color of the beer in the smiley! int:

I teach in Fresno, and I have found the town to be very kilt friendly. (Now to pack my kilt, get on my bike and head to school!)
Cheers
Chris
I wish I had something funny or profound to put in a signature.

Stepping out kilted, and in the company of a group of law enforcers! Good job!
As others stated, I prefer a good dark brew myself....
Welcome to the rabble, from one South of you.

Regarding the beverages being served; definitely not my choice. I like it dark and strong. Plus, I homebrew. I had more good comments around the office today about the kilt. I hate to say it, but I was surprised. Now I just need to get a more "traditional" kilt. I really like that LEO tartan by USAkilts http://www.usakilts.com/leomt_kilts.php
Anyone out there actually have it and what do you think. I'm very interested to know.
Regards,
Mark

That's wonderful! You make really good, sharp-looking kilts (like the ones you have posted in the past!) Pictures!

Mark, I have one. It's a little light, but I really like the color scheme.

Can you shoot me a photo of it. I'd like to see one done up.
Did you go all out with it, all the bells and whistles?
