Packing kilt for motorcycle travel
My wife and I are planning a weekend away motorcycle trip to Bisbee, Az at the end of September. Can anyone tell me a good way to pack my kilt? (I do not plan to wear it during the 4-6 hour trip.)

Roll it up and stick it in with the rest of your luggage.

Great info- thanks, I was searching the threads but hadn't found the right one yet. I was worrying about wrinkles.

I find the "roll it up and put it into a knee-high stocking interesting. First because that is precisely what "Scotty" Thompson said to do in his book So you are going to wear the Kilt and what the enlisted men in the Navy have been doing for centuries with their dress uniforms, (just a slightly different process, but the same theory) which is to turn the uniform inside out, fold it lengthwise and then roll it up and stuff it into the sea bag.

Great time to visit Bisbee; should be nice Fall colors in the Mule Mtns.
This is how I "roll" when I'm biking a kilt...
(Ready for my daily 8+ mi. ride to work.)

The cylindrical object just behind the seat on top of the brief case is my "Kilt Roll" kilt karrier that I got from these folks.

I've used it extensively for over 3 years & it's still goin' strong & the fact that it's water resistant is a real plus when I get caught in a monsoon storm. Shoulder strap or handle make it a breeze to carry.
If you're only going to be gone for the weekend, PM me. I live just a little west of MetroCenter & I'd be willing to let you borrow it.

They have two kilt rolls listed; one was made of nylon, the other was made of canvas. Which one did you purchase?

You could also wear the kilt over your shoulders poncho/cape style and let it fly in the breeze like a super hero as you rode. Would air it out well.
Enjoy Bisbee...hope you're taking the backroads for both beauty and safety.
