Get together in Victoria BC

Hey folks, I'm returning from tour in a few days and will be in Victoria BC from Sept 30 to Oct 4 and would love to have a wee get together with some other "kilties". If anyone is interested just post here and we can set something up. I', staying at the Sandman hotel and I'm sure it would be no trouble to take over, er I mean reserve some space in the lounge. ;)

Sounds good! I'm available the 30th, 1st and 2nd. The Saltire is on its way and maybe this could tie in with your visit. I'll defer to the local VIKS social coordinator (The Wizard) though. It would be great to meet you!

It is OFFICIAL then!!!!!!!!!!

The VIKS (not sure what that stands for MacMan but I like it.) Will host a Kilt Night in Victoria to welcome kiltedwolfman and to host the Saltaire on it's voyage of exploration.

I'll contact the owners of "The Bard and Banker" a new pub downtown Victoria and see if we can get the back patio for an event.

BTW - The Bard and Banker is owned by the same folks as is The Irish Times where we have held former kilt nights. Great decor, good music ( But loud) and a great selection of Scotch. The pub is located in the building which was originally the Canadian Dominion Bank and was also the home of Robert Service when he lived here in Victoria. Hence the name.

Keep an eye out for an announcement in the Kilt Nights section.

Good timing (Saltire and all)! If you set a date I could find a "biz" reason to be in Victoria and Big Mikey and I could even meet up aboard one of the Queen's yachts.

Well, start planning your trips guys 'cause it is down to Wed the 1st or Thu the 2nd of Oct.

I am meeting with the folks at "The Bard And Banker" tomorrow afternoon.

I'm trying to get us a back room where we can actually hear conversation. But still be near enough the bar to keep from dying of thirst and near enough to the band to be able to dance.

To honor kiltedwolfman's visit to Victoria and to welcome the Saltaire back to our Island paradise I am happy to announce...

VICTORIA KILT NIGHT!!!!!!

Place: The Fernwood Inn 1300 Gladstone Ave.

Date: Thursday the 2nd of October 2008

Time: Meet at the Freedom Kilts shop between 5:00 and 6:00pm .

We'll have the Saltaire at the shop for you to sign the logbook and then we will walk all 96 steps to the pub to enjoy a meal and good conversation.
