New Kilt Night in Vancouver Canada
Paul Evenden (of the band 'Copper Sky' http://www.bcmusicman.ca/coppersky.htm) is organizing a kilt night to be held on 17th October at the Atlantic Trap and Gill in Vancouver.
Come one, come all!
Although this is not meant to compete with the 'other' kilt night held here in town, there is several advantages to the 'Trap:
-It's a 'Celtic' bar in attitude as well as name - as welcoming as the staff in the other bar are, it's a sports bar where 99% of the clientel are there to watch the game, not to listen to pipe music or anything else.
-the patrons are 'receptive' to a guy in a kilt (nudge nudge)
-The 'Trap is in a slightly less scary part of the Downtown core (I've been 'claimed' twice coming out of Doolins)
cheers Rob

Hmm.... also falls on the same day as that hallowed, ancient, and widely regarded holiday known as Scotchtoberfest!

sounds like a good night. On a side note for anyone going to the Vancouver Film Fest. this Sat is their unofficial kilt day.

Everything i've ever seen states that its the 3rd Friday of October... although it seems that several organizations have varied dates for their events with the same name.

I'm kind of hoping that this isn't due to it's proximity to Davie St and that whole "Davie Village" thing...
I really don't care what other people get up to in that regard, it's just not my thing.

Actually, the Trap is more than a few blocks away from the Davie Village. The patrons are receptive to kilts because the place is a newfie place. It is very east coast.
