Threave Castle
When I was at Ferintosh in September I rode the Goldwing to Threave Castle.
I was on my own and not kilted (due to riding the bike) but thought it would be nice to share some pictures of the place nonetheless.
It's nearly a mile walk from the car park through a succession of gates but worth it when you get there.
Zoom towards the Keep.
The Castle stands on an island in the River Dee and to reach it you have to summon the boatman by ringing a bell.
Once on the island you get a good view of the Keep.
Plaques give details of the history - love the name "Archibald the Grim" !
More to come!

I like how they've reconstructed the buldings around the main stone castle, in the display there.

I was down that way earlier this year to visit 2 of the National Trust properties but missed out on that one. Thanks for those.
