    Waxed cotton jacket?

I'm thinking of buying a waxed cotton jacket to wear this winter. Does anyone have recommendations or photos? I'd especially like advice on length.
    Thanks, Charlie

I own a classic Beaufort jacket from Barbour:

You might want to keep an eye on Sierra Trading Post, they always seem to have Barbour items on sale.

Barbour Jackets are the best, and well worth the price.

I'm partial to Filson jackets; wore them in the mines as a boy. The pic is of their cruiser jacket in waxed cotton they call tincloth. They also have bomber styles which might go better with kilts. www.filson.com Top quality goods.

I have a dark green Barbour Beaufort jacket with a snap-in pile liner and a dark tan Filson Tin Cloth hunting jacket. Both are fantastic. The Barbour has a great vintage British style to it. Filson is damn near bombproof but is very stiff compared to the Barbour. Both shed rain as well as any of the Gore-Tex jackets I've owned.

Unfortunately, I haven't worn my Barbour for quite a while and want to sell it because it's too big for me. I ordered a size 48" when I'm actually a Size 44" (thinking it would be better for layering). Well, it's great for layering but it's still too large on me. If anyone is interested in it feel free to PM me.
