Back To School
So today, this olde geezer has been asked to come to our local high school and talk to three classes of "tough kids" again. I always go kilted. Find kilts capture their attention well. Have 90 minutes for each class so plenty of time for them to soak up the concept of kilts.
Been asked in to talk about the effects of alcohol and drugs. Quite a joke in the grand scheme of things for this olde drunk and herbal farmer. But, they seem to be interested in what I have to say each time. We'll see today.
Even more ironic, realized this morning that its a birthday of sorts for me. 19 years of continuous sobriety today. Folks who knew me when I was boozin' would call that a miracle of sorts.
Nice combo today though, sober and kilted and reaching out to "tough kids" on both fronts.

Congrats on the birthday Ron. I didn't know you back then, but I'm glad to know you today.
Just don't tell them about your new "addiction". Let that be a surprise when they buy their first! HAHAHAHA

The miracle in life is the more you give , the more you get. Love comes in many forms, what you are doing is showing one of Love's highest forms, humility. Under those hard shells of the toughies, are a bunch of scared and lonely kids. By showing them they can rejoice in their own skins and be who ever they will to be, you are giving them the greatest gift possible, their freedom.
God (or what ever higher Power you choose) Bless you, Brother!
