If you keep this up...don't be suprised

My wife and I were getting ready to go out last night and a few of her girlfriends/ our co-workers came by so we could drive together. We were headed out for dinner and a "few" wonderful microbrew porters (yum) at a local pub.

I came into the kitchen to chat before we left and one asked "where's your kilt?" I just stared blankly. I wear kilts often but had no idea that it had become a norm for me.

The rest of the women let loose with similar questioning. Talk about being in a cage of magpies...they gave me no chance to respond to their rapid fire questioning...anyway...

I went up to the bedroom to change and then they started yelling up thier suggestions for which tartan, hose shirt etc etc. Echos of "Oh i LIKE that one" or "He looks good in that..."

So I let them choose for me.

MacLaren Modern, thick dark green hose, yellow garter flashes, off white wool sweater, boonies, leather day sporran with rose embossed on the flap and pewter rose 'button'.

I came down...they all agreed that NOW I looked suitable for the evenings events.

My wife took her MacLaren plaid and wore it as a scarf. She said she wanted no question as to which woman I belonged.

We headed out for a wonderful night of good food, good beer and great friends.

Ah, the power of the kilt at its best. Hope you have a great evening, sounds like you were the hit of the outing.

Having a group of ladies pick the kilt they want you to wear along with the accessories sounds like a bit of kilted heaven .

Glad you had a wonderful evening with your wife and coworkers. Doing so kilted makes it all the better.

Oh yes. No doubt about that.

My wife and I went to Panera Bread with our two kids yesterday, and when I went to pick up the food, one of the people behind the counter asked where my kilt was. Only the second time I've been there in about 6 months, and only wore a kilt once. Now I feel obligated to wear a kilt if I know I am going to Panera Bread.

BTW, I've learned that sitting near the door to the patio at the local BW3 is not a good thing to do in a kilt, if you are facing that said door. Sure, the apron was down, but every time the door opened, that cold cold wind was aimed straight in there....

(my wife made me change socks a few times today, she didn't like the black socks I had, either up onto the calf or scrunched down.)

It's funny cause I know exactly what you are talking about. God forbid if I don't wear it to the market. I catch hell from everyone.
