After the six country dance holidays we enjoyed near Grenoble, the kilts will be flying in Andalucia next autumn.

This time we shall be staying in a big 4-star hotel, the Alay, midway
between the town-centres of Torremolinos and Benalmadena, very near
the sea front, the marina and the main bus route to Malaga.

When I suggested an autumn dance holiday to Ken Martlew and Malcolm
Brown, both replied immediately that they would be happy to give us
the benefit of their talents once again. Both have been a great asset
on previous holidays, and I am delighted they will be joining us in
Spain.

There will be social dancing every evening in the spacious ball room
of Hotel Alay, preceded by a buffet in the dining room (all included)
and followed by drinks in the bar (at your own expense!). It will be
quieter and cooler in October than in the height of summer.

On three mornings, new or less familiar dances will be taught or
revised, and then you will be free to choose a place to eat at lunch
time, take a rest or a walk on the prom, swim in the pool or the sea,
visit the town, its shops and its parks or take a bus ride to nearby
places such as the quaint village of Mijas or the busy centre of
Malaga.

There will also be coach outings for the group to visit Ronda and Granada.

Please note that this will not be an "autumn school"; it will be a
holiday, for people that enjoy Scottish Country dancing, discovering
new dances, meeting new friends.

Malaga, unlike Grenoble, has an important international airport with
regular services from many parts of northern Europe, including flights
with low-cost companies.

8 -15 October 2009.

Cost : 385 € per person in double room (half board and dancing)

+ 95 € per person for coach outings, including entry tickets to bull
ring & cathedral in Ronda, and Generalife & Alhambra in Granada.

(475 + 95 €, for single room)

If interested, please get in touch for further details.
