    Kilted Thanksgiving

Here are a couple of pics of Thanksgiving at my folks house, this is a first kilted event for all three of us. My dad was concerned about wearing the kilt as he is Swedish, I told him its O.K. its not his fault, seriously it was a great opportunity to honor my moms side of the family as most of the traditions we celebrate are Swedish. They also had a couple of folks over from their church, they got a kick out of the kilts. Its me in the center, my dad on my right and my son on my left.

Here is a pic of my son and I at my in laws place. My father in law was a little shocked to see us in kilts(there was no warning), In the end he liked them.

Superb pic. Three generations of kilted men, is this a first on x-marks?
This is really wonderful to see.
Sadly my father is already dead and I do not yet have any sons so this is one pic I can never match.

Tell your dad to think of the kilt as triumphant plunder.

My Macdonald ancestors go back to Uig, Skye in 1750 as far back as we've been able to trace. But our DNA is Scandanavian. Viking Scots.

Just because your ancestors came back home after raids on Scotland doesn't mean your dad can't wear the kilt.

    Enjoy

Ron, I'll proudly raise a cup to the mighty sons o' Somerled . . but let's not forget about that clever, match-making nephew of his, either!
Eric, those pix are blue ribbon; and the 3-generation one - that deserves framing!
    Congratulations!

Great to see all three generations in kilts!

Yes the Viking/Scottish connection is a long one.

Thanks for the nice comments. I know I have reason to be truly thankful. In the words of Joe Walsh-Life's been good to me so far.
