    Talking A good day

I'm about 45 minutes from bed.
The day's criterion for being good...
I bought an SWK Saffron Standard.
I got the kids to bed early.
I enjoyed some Goose Island IPA.
Wife told me that my new boss encourages me to wear the kilt to work.
Wife is buying me Dropkick Murphys tickets for Xmas.
    I watched "Serenity" again.

    D@mn, but I'm a happy Daddy Goat!

Not a bad day at all. Good on ya. Sounds like you appreciate them, too. Even better.
Why, a child of five could understand this. Quick -- someone fetch me a child of five!

    Angry

    I just checked ticket prices.
When did punk shows rate Eagles pricing?

Take it to the limit one more time....

I'm still trying to figure out how to cope with some of these prices. Some of these folks I used to see at the Quiet Knight/Tuts or The Aragon for a five dollar cover and a two drink minimum!

...and this is too spooky...you sound too much like me except that my kids are in their late teens and don't go to bed! Goose Island and Firefly, though...oh, yeah...

I hear you. Nothing against the DMs, but they got famous and so it goes. Personally, I won't pay $100+ to see any band. Hell, I won't pay $50--especially to be packed into a full-house situation where it takes standing in line for 10-15 minutes to get a $7 beer.

Fantastic! I'm a big fan of Firefly and Serenity, and I rarely run into other fans unless they were people I introduced to it.

I have no idea what bands you guys are talking about--a wee bit o' generational gap. A great day for me, one in which I have enjoyed many times, is a day with the kids doing something adventurous like skiing, sailing, hiking, or traveling to exotic locales then relaxing with my beautiful wife on the back porch and a good cigar and single malt scotch.

Unfortunately the cost of tickets varies significantly by the venue of the performance. DKM attempts to perform at the most cost effective way it can. I enjoyed concerts last summer at about thirty-five dollars. Part of the cost here was the ticket agents fee. Many venues require the concert to use a particular ticketing scheme, such as Ticketmaster, that rake a big fee off the top. When staging a concert, many communities require a police detail, and large permit fees for even being there. The mayor and city council in Boston are very welcoming of the performing arts. Hence the red tape is a lot less than in many other communities.
I hope this is not too political for the forum.

Yes that is a good day. As good as when my spouse suggested I add another kilt to the kollection.

lol, not bands. Firefly is a single-season television show by Joss Whedon (Fox gave it the ax far too early) starring Nathan Fillian, Adam Baldwin, Summer Glau, Alan Tudyk, Ron Glass, and 4 others. It's sci-fi meets western (sounds stupid, but it's a great show).

Serenity is the movie based on the series.
