Extremely successful wedding and a new kiltie

Yesterday I had my wedding wearing the wonderful USAK Premier kilt in 13oz Clark Modern that Rocky made for me, my Argyle jacket and waist coat, and my tartan hose made by a company whose name escapes me at the moment. Our piper was the gentleman who is my instructor and left such an impression that I was continuously asked about him all night. Unfortunately, as I found out this morning, he came down with a terrible headache shortly after piping us into the reception, went out and sat in his car and didn't quite recover until 3 hours later. I received many compliments on my kilt and my nephew wore his for the first time. He was initially a little leery - he's 9 - but once he started receiving compliments, he refused to take it off. I last saw him this morning wearing the same Argyle jacket, vest, and kilt he had on last night. The kilt was a bit askew, but he was otherwise quite well dressed considering the early hour. Hope to have the pics back soon.

We will have to wait 4 to 6 weeks for the professional pics. Hopefully someone sends me some amateur shots soon. Jen's uncle is quite the photobug and even got some lessons from our photographer during the reception. Couldn't have asked for a better supporting cast, considering all the hiccups along the way, including having to change the date 5 months out due to a 2-star general wanting to have his Christmas party the same night as our original date. As is typical with military life, a last minute hiccup resulted in us ending up with our third priest because the first one moved to D.C. back in Feb, and the second deployed last Monday. We didn't meet Fr. Foley until the rehearsal Friday night. As to your question, no, he didn't wear a kilt, even though he's an Irishman and was part of the largest parish in Chicago for a number of years. I was kind of surprised to see him in the normal black priest suit rather than in the Army digital ACU uniform. One becomes accustomed to seeing desert boots peeking out from under the Alb after a while.

On a side note, I'll be or around Charleston, SC this week. Brought all my USAK semi-trads - left the premier at home. Kind of regretting it now, but will probably wear it to Christmas Mass and didn't want to get it dirty.
