Saltire Organizing Commitee
NEWS FLASH....NEWS FLASH....NEWS FLASH....
Rabble Gathering and Organizing Committee held their first organizational meeting this day in the dusty town of Corrales, New Mexico. Besides enjoying a wonderful lunch provided by The Corrales Bistro and Brewery, both X-marks members WeaselMender and BroosterB1 conspired to bring the Good Airship to the Duke City next October (2009) along with a gathering of the Rabble and other Kilted to crew the Airship. Plans are in the works to send the Airship aloft during both the Mass Accession and the Special Shapes events.
Rabble and brethren are encouraged to indicate interest in attending this spectacular event. Special Room rates, and discount packages are intended to be available to members of the X-marks community.
A Kilted Crewing event is also in the works, so members may see first hand the beauty and challenge of lighter than air flight. Any and all potential members of the Rabble Gathering and Organizing Committee are encouraged to PM either Weaselmender or BroosterB1 for committee assignments and positions.
With luck and a fair wind the Saltire shall soar over the skies of New Mexico!

Just for clarification: are you talking about the little wooden saltire that Jamie has sent 'round the globe? Or are you talking about a literal airship?

Sounds like the two of you had a good time. As for the plans,...Were they hatched during the meal, or were you refining an earlier idea?

Brooster has already mentioned this little venture to me, and I plan to bring my family.

All the Rabble is welcome! Hawk has first dibs on the guest house; We really are working on getting discounts or at least blocks of rooms for Rabble and Family.
We will also get crew positions for those of the Rabble who would like to experience what non-powered lighter than air flight is all about.

Plans are certain to get the Saltire in the Air! But the question remains WHOM shall take her aloft? Such a dicey decision cannot be taken lightly, but one of the Crowd must be selected to ascend the heights, drift with the winds for the sake of Honor and Fortune and the Power and Majesty of the Kilt!
Who shall Stand with me in this our finest hour, on this Day Saint Krispin's Day!
Was that over the top?

Yeah...A wee bit overdramatic, but that's all right. We're all alowed our... flights... of fancy from time to time. Yes, I said it.
Thanks for the dibs on the guest house. brother. I'll take you up on that. I've always wanted to help crew one of those things, ever since my daddy took me to see them when I was a kid. I'm in.
