Brace Yourself: X-Kilt manual, 2nd ed
It's in the works. The next edition will:
1. Change the mess-up where the over-apron strip gets half-hidden by the under-apron pleat.
2. Hopefully contain at least a dozen pictures of the construction process. HOPEFULLY. This means I have to make myself another X-Kilt, so I can take pictures. Well, I *do* have more of that leftover digicamo from way2fractious
3. And the killer-diller....the 2nd edition will contain an approximately 10 page addendum, with several pictures and diagrams from sydnie7, on how to adapt the X-Kilt to Reverse Kinguisse construction.
The manual is currently 36 pages, including various addenda and Tartan Hikers excellent "Tips and Shortcuts". This next edition will probably approach 50 pages. Of course, it will still be free for download and use by any and all who wish to make themselves a contemporary kilt.
I've just gone through sydnie7's RK instructions and she's a good writer, they're very clear. Hopefully we'll have the final version up by mid-late January.

As if my kilt making addiction isn't advanced enough without more help from yet an addendum...

Decisions, decisions. I just got material and have it washed, ironed and readyh to cut with time coming available to work on my first x-kilt. NOW you have changes coming to the manual. Wait or start working on it? hmmmmm..... Well, there are some things I should be able to do to get started before the new version comes out...

Good News!
Well,
Let me know when it's ready for prime time and I'll give it a good home to host from. Unlimited bandwidth, you know.

I...ah, I hadn't heard about that particular issue. Maybe I should wait until the second edition to start work on my first X-kilt (yeah, I know, I've been talking about starting one for something like a year now.)

Just save attaching the Velcro until you know how the deep pleat on the left-hand side of the apron is going to fold.
