New Year's Eve and Day pictures
I thought I would share what I and the F-H.C.A.G. wore to bring in the New Year!
The next day the family went for a stroll along the beach and amongst the tide pools in Santa Cruz.
A lady made a point of coming up and saying "you look very handsome!"
Not a bad start to the New Year!
I must say how incredibly pleased I am with the traditional hose garters I bought from Matt Newsome at the Scottish Tartans Museum. I love to go on walks in my kilt and the only downside has been the elastic of my flashes cutting into the circulation of my legs making my calves hurt by the end of my walk. This doesn't happen with these garters and you can bet I have a resolution to get more of them in the coming year!
Cheers

Wonderful photos Jamie I wish it were warm enough here to wear something like that outside, as it is one must guard against the elements this time of year in Canada. I have to say that you both looked appropriately festive to ring in the New Year. All the best for the New Year.

Smashing as always, Jamie!
Couldn't agree more about those traditional tying garters, from the STM!

Well done, Jamie. Excellent ensembles as befitted the occasions.
Cannot say I agree with you about the traditional tie-garters though! I have several pairs (not from the STM, I hasten to add. They came with hose I bought over here in recent years). After numerous failed attempts at wearing them with a degree of comfort, I gave up, chopped off the ends that show and mounted them on the 1" wide elastic I use for all my home-made flashes. They are now both comfortable and serviceable. I dare say it is all down to one's calf development! Since I was obliged to give up both cycling and dancing, mine have almost faded away, and what with water collecting at the ankles ............. but I won't go on - I do not want to put you off your dinner!
Take care,
Ham.

Looking good, Jamie.
Like Hamish, I made inch wide garters from a yard of elastic and I find these more comfortable for everyday wear than kilt garters.

Jamie:
First of all, you look spot on!
Now, I have a question about that martini (I'm assuming it's a martini). Do I detect ice cubes? Do you drink your martini on the rocks, rather than up? I know there are those who do, but that would be the first pictorial evidence I've seen of someone drinking a martini on the rocks.

Gentlemen, such is always our lot in life. No matter how good we look, the fairer sex always outshines us. The best we can hope for is to form the other half of an outstanding couple.
