    Don't be THAT guy...

Dateline: New Years in Madison, WI

As Beloitpiper swaggered into the house party, all the girls swooned (true story!) and the guys' eyes almost popped out of their skulls. I got a lot of polite comments and questions, and I started to think "This is going to be a good night." Well, a few drinks were had, a bit of music was played, and people came and went. The party was going great, until this one guy came in. He was already clearly inebreated, and he saw me in my kilt and I could tell he was thinking "GREAT, a guy to make fun of!" He walked up to me, interrupted my conversation with a really cute blonde, and slurs "Och laddie, thats quite a skirt!"
I kinda chuckled and replied, "Thanks man, that's quite an accent."
    "Aye, I'm from Scadlind too!"
"Really? I'm from Wisconsin, so I guess you're on your own."
By that time I think he had lost interest, so he left to get more to drink. I turned around to the cute blonde and continued my previous conversation.

A few minutes later, I felt a breeze behind me and it's Our Friend The Genius again. He lifted my kilt and yelled "What do you got under here?"
I kept my cool and yelled "Why is it that only the guys want to know?" to which Cute Blonde From Earlier yells "Actually, I was planning on finding out for myself later."

I put my arm around her waist, strolled out of the place, and gave one last wink to the meat head left alone in hallway with everybody laughing at him.

    Happy New Year!

Sounds like a great night, all in all. Dealing with Drunks gets tiring, good to hear you handled it so well. Happy New Year Greg.

Did you take the hot blond in with you, or meet her there?
Try wearing an animal mask sporran. I've heard chicks went to pet them.

    You've heard right, my friend.

Good on ya, Greg, for a classy handling of that classless fellow.

Most of the women I know would run screaming from the room if I donned one of those... Must be an English thing!

It's true. I have a Canadian beaver sporran from Ferguson Britt, and the ladies love to stroke it (heh heh).

Greg, you handled it beautifully. I probably would have been a bit more confrontational and said, "Why is it always the GUYS that want a date?"
