Burns dinner in or around Lexington KY?
I have not gotten a news letter over the last 12 months, and cannot find any information about an upcoming event. Anyone here have information or another dinner close that they would recommend?
Thanks
David

Bikeolounger it trying to get a group for a kilt night in Louisville on the 24th (not planned on being an official Burns' night, but hey). The Cincinnati Caledonian society web site also says that the 24th is their Burns' night, but gives no details (time, location, price). It is also unusual since they usually do theirs on Friday, not Saturdays. (edit) It is at the Ft Thomas Armory, but still no exact time or cost, but you could probably e-mail them ( http://www.caledoniansociety.org/ )
Ofjax has also contacted Nicholsons in Cincinnati, and they say they are planning something, but again nothing on the web site. Probably on Sunday though since they usually do it on the actual Burns' night.
My plans personally are to try and make it to Louisville if I can, and I'll probably be at Nicholsons on Sun if they are doing something.

As Adam said, I'm putting on a Kilt Night the 24th. Details here. Not so formal as a Burns Supper (no haggis for me, thanks!), but potential for good conversation over an excellent local brew.
Lovin' the breeze 'tween m'knees!

To clarify; the Burns Night at Nicholsons in Cincy will be on the 23rd. You're welcome to carpool.

I don't know about Lexington, but CDNSushi can hook you up with a great Burns Night Supper deal in Tokyo. Bring your checkbook!
Why, a child of five could understand this. Quick -- someone fetch me a child of five!

No interest in Tokyo, but thanks. Seems a shame nothing is going on here, what has happened to everyone? OFJAX, if that is an offer, very kind, I wouldn't mind lifting a pint with Adam again, where are you?

I live in Lawrenceburg, just south of Frankfort. If you drove up here, we could meet up and carpool.

Are you in with the Bluegrass Highlanders there? I haven't lived in Lexington in over five years, so I'm a little out of the loop, but they used to throw a mad, full-tilt formal Burns supper there in Lexington! Maybe it's not open to the public anymore? But I don't think it would take much to join...
Last I heard Bill/William Gordon was the head conspirator for the BGH. I've got a phone number for him if you like? And I think he works up at Joseph-Beth if you ever get out that way. Tall lean fella with long reddish-white hair (if I recall), probably in his fifties but in good shape. His wife's name is Susie. Real nice folks.
Hope ye find yer joy!

I have assisted Bill at several dinners, heard he bowed out. I paid the dues for 2 years and never got so much as a newsletter, so I don't know if they exist or not.
