    What colour with my gordon?

    Hello,

    I'm still doubtful about this:

Next week friday I have a school gala. Not as formal as a standard gala, so I ll come in my new argyll outfit.

I decided not to wear black nor white socks as I want something to match my kilt, which is in the Gordon Modern tartan (my black shoes match the argyll vest and jacket anyway)

I have given myself a couple of options:

    1. Navy kilt hose with red flashes
    2. Navy kilt hose with gordon tartan flashes
    3. Bottle green kilt hose with gordon tartan flashes (they'd not be really visible :<)
    4. Bottle green kilt hose with red flashes

I also have blue flashes, but those are not the same blue as in the gordon kilt (lighter)

Picking from these options, what would you gentlemen advice / what would be your personal choice?

    Greetings,

    Daniel Craanen

I have a Gordon Modern as well. I've worn both navy and green hose (not at the same time of course ) with gold/yellow flashes that match the yellow line in the tartan. I've also worn the navy hose with green flashes.

I have a Gordon Highlander from What Price Glory, I've found that navy works as does dark Green, with Yellow garter ties or even Red ties. I've also used the Khaki hose from What Price Glory.

    I'd go green-with-tartan or green-with-red

Green with red would look really great.

Thank you all for the advise! As my legs are fairly long, the shop didn't have blue ones in stock anyway so I went for the green ones. Long, and good quality means that they are more expensive than the standard hose and as I am on a budget (my argyll jacket made me nearly broke O_o) I decided to just go with my tartan flashes (which for some reason have red tips :S I liked it though).

Thank you all, and puffer, I love your hose tops. are those only hose tops or are those attached to the hose it self?

They are "hose Toppers" They slip over the top of the hose & flashes. Yes, they stay in place VERY well. I have several sets & love them.
I got mine from BIG MIKEY. http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/member.php?u=2608

If you order from him be sure to send him a pich of the tartan(s) you are matching & let him make suggestions on color & pattern. ALSO be sure to send him your "calf measurements ( I am also "tall & slender)
