I got news from Rocky today!

Well while out in the -2 degree weather today doing a little shopping with the wife, my phone beeped to let me know I had a message... I didn't have enough signal strength to check it so I had to ignore it until I got back home. Turns out it was Rocky from USAKilts calling to let me know that my semi-traditional in MacPherson red was done and wondering if I wanted it shipped out or if I was coming to pick it up I excitedly called Rocky back and talked to his wife to tell her we would be coming up there on Feb 7th to meet them and see the shop. Now I am really jonesing! It was bad knowing it was being made, but to know it is waiting for me now is killing me lol!

To add to my joy, Turpin tells me he will have my sporran done by Thursday! So I get to wear it when I get my kilt! I'm smiling from ear to ear and simply cannot wait to see how it turned out.

How many sleepless nights is it until Feb 7th?

Dude! That's three weeks! If he just ships it, you'll have it in three days!

Shhh! I know that, but if he ships it here, I may not be able to talk my wife into letting me go to his shop when we are up that way! If we go to see her friends up there, I will be about 3 blocks away.

Hell, 3 weeks, thats plenty of time to order a semi-trad from him and with the extra few bucks, to have it ready for pickup at the same time. Then, you can make up some kind of story about winning it or something.

(Still miffed my wife thinks 4 kilts is more than enough... I tell her one doesn't count, and I know what I want for #5.....)

LOL, believe me I can't wait for the next one and I do not even have this one yet. The weather has turned cold here once again, so I keep dreaming of a WPG 22oz and after that saving up for an Isle of Skye in wool (the wife thinks I'd look really good in it). I just gotta watch how much I spend. I can probably get away with ordering the WPG and I am going to commission Turpin to make two more flaps for my sporran, one with the MacPherson red tartan and one with either red fox fur or mink if I can grab a decent pelt from my local sporting goods shop to send him. And I still need to work on the incidentals like kilt hose, garters and sgian dubh. So I just need to pace myself over the next year and not go too overboard lol.

Ask her how many hand bags or how many pairs of shoes 'are enough'.
