How to dress for Golf?
I'm going to Florida next week for a little family get together, and intend to play golf with my Father-In-Law. I thought I'd wear my kilt to play golf in, but then realized, I'm not sure how to accessorize it.
Generally, when I wear my kilt, I wear combat boots, cream hose, black flashes, and black casual sporran(military pouch). However, when I play golf, and it's warm enough for shorts, I generally wear those little footie sock things that barely stick out of the shoe.
Is it okay to wear a kilt, with the legs bare down to your ankles? I hadn't thought about it until just a few minutes ago, and now I'm concerned with either getting grass stains on my kilt hose, or looking like some sort of weirdo for not wearing hose.
Thoughts?

I'd wear the kilt hose, but that's me.

Kilted golf is fun!
When I play I use one of my Stillwater acrylic kilts and acrylic hose.
It is hard to beat a simple white or other solid color polo shirt, sweater vest, and a simple sporran (and possibly a nice tartan flatcap)
Cheers

Oh, no. Don't get the tartan flat cap thing started again. Even if it is a golf course.

Actually I have found that a sporran is very convenient for carrying pencils, tees, and such. Far more accessible than pockets when you have another foursome behind you.

Thanks for the fast replies. I was thinking of wearing my sporran to the course, and then taking it off and hanging it on my golf bag while we played.
I generally tend to empty my pockets of anything when playing, and keep it all in a pocket on my bag anyway.
I'll take the advice and go for the hose, and a solid golf shirt.
Thanks again guys!

Be sure to wear the pleats in front just like George Lopez did at the pro-am.
Why, a child of five could understand this. Quick -- someone fetch me a child of five!

Kilt hose +/- flashes, kilt (obviously), belt (if you have an unobtrusive one), no sporran, golf shirt and appropriate headwear. Oh, also wear the biggest grin you ever had. Afterall, the Scots invented the game.

I'll be in the Melbourne area for a few days, which is where my Father-In-Law and I should be playing golf. I should probably say playing at golf, as I don't get out very often, maybe once every couple of years or so. Mostly, I'll just be out there to have fun
