Kilt Checked by Dakota
Dakota is my 4 year old Australian Shepherd mix. Yesterday, it was just below freezing in the morning, with quite a bit of frost. I had just let her in, and she followed me into the kitchen. When my wife dropped a spoon, I bent over to pick it up for her, and Dakota decided to find the answer to "the question" for herself. As I bent over, she stuck her colder than usual nose up the back of my Sportkilt and against my inner thigh. My wife said I haven't jumped as high or moved as fast since we were married 32 years ago. Kilt checks are one thing, but one from a furry friend with a very cold nose is an entirely different experience.

Yes, isn't that fun! I have been kilt checked by all four of my "puppies"- the worst is when I am getting their evening meal and have the additional drool to contend with.

Crack me up! Reminds me of when I was a boy. We always had Great Danes. When my granmother's would come over the dogs would always cold nose them under their dress. I'm sure its a friendly thing in the dog world...but I'm always vigilant when kilted around a pup.

Now THAT is one way to wake up in the morning. Of course I prefer a few cups of hot tea myself but what ever rocks your boat. ![Laughing](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif) ![Laff](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/laff.gif)

My shepard loves my dress sporran; full nuzzle while breathing in the rabbitness, does make it a tad difficult to manouver around a 105 lbs dog who is maddly in love with your sporran. His Kilt checks are usually done after inhaling large quantities of chilly water from the self waterer; wet furry nose acompanied by dribbles of cold water running down the leg(s); oh, and he's sneaky about it too, so preparation is the short period of time between the kilt goes up and the nuzzle begings.
