    Ebay promotional codes ?

Im trying to close out on a SWK standard Kilt, checking out on ebay. and it is asking if I have a promotional code.
    I don't know... do we?

Saving a few bucks is always a nice thing.

    Any info from the rabble?

( what a geek I am... I don't even know if I'm saying or using that term right )

Very occasionally ebay will give you a promotional code to get you back into bidding again. In five years of e-baying I have had two of these. You would receive it as one of your e-bay messages.
If you have one, you bid and buy in the usual way then when you come to pay by Paypal you paste in the promotional code and e-bay underwrite part of the price paid to the purchaser, typically 5% or 10%. The promotional code can only be used once.

Yep, they're good things to have. I was offered one the other day and a good 'used' pair of buckled brogues came on offer. I won the auction for a bargain price and the promo paid my postage

Promotional codes can also be given by the retailer. Until very recently I was the leading light in 'babyvalue' (eBay shop). We would regularly give special promotions for different types of customer - those who had purchased certain products; those who were the underbidder; return customers.

Another way to get a little boost from eBay purchases is to sign up with MyPoints. Click through the MyPoints site every time you go to eBay, and you'll get points for purchases. Points can be redeemed for gift cards to other merchants, etc. MP is one of the better regarded rewards programs, has been around a long time (there's a site called CompareRewards that will back me up on this). It may not be the only reward site that "pays" for eBay purchases, but I think it is the premier site in terms of reliability and point value.

BTW there is a referral program but soliciting is probably against forum rules
