help me pick a SWK thrifty out

yes A thtifty as I dont have a lot to spend right now and trying to get rid of some pounds to lower blood presser and fit into my stuff. Cant see paying 2 ,3 ,4 hundred for a kilt then have to get ride of it cause it will not fit. I dont think jerry will have the Irish National in when I go to order so I like the Black Watch my self but vote and tell what you think........kerry

I'll vote blackwatch as I've just bought one myself and am awaiting delivery unfortunataly jerrys super sonic delivery doesn't quite work as well over this side of the pond in that it wasn't here before I orderd 

There is a web site called www.HeritageOfScotland.com that has a 16oz Poliviscose kilt at a very reasonable price ($60-70). I Just bought one and it looks pure gallus. It's called Heritage of Ireland.

I've got a BW Thrifty kilt from SWK and like it just fine.
Moved up to a Standard a few months later.... you'll want to save up for one of those when you're ready. The Black Watch... goes with everything, just my vote.

I have an SWK Thifty in Black Watch I got about 6-7 months ago. Very well made,
and holds the pleats very well. I'm saving up to lose a few meself, and then will be
looking to purchase a trad-Clergy tartan. Good Luck.

I like my SWK thrifty in Black Watch as a nice around the house kilt. It is holding up well.

All my SWK's are standards; but I really like them. very good value and Jerry's delivery is second to none. That said, I know this will not be popular, but, Frugal Corner has some very economical kilts in the 13 oz. I'm sure you could get a tartan that would fill the bill.

Rocky at USA Kilts also has some off the racks that would work. As does Sport Kilt. That said; if you are bigger going down in size, most off the racks will give you more fudge room. Instead of ordering a 56 @ the belly order a 54 or a 52, just also buy some buckle extenders this will give you a bigger range, allow you to wear the kilt for a longer period of time.

I too am in the "shrinking" mode, my first kilt was a 48, my last a 44, my first still works with all the buckles pulled in to the last notch, and my newest fits like a glove, and will probably see me to size 40 or so, kilts can be very forgiving.
