    Needed: Fabric Recommendation

I've got a project for which I need one yard of double-wide (58"/60") or two yards of single-wide black watch fabric. It doesn't need to have a kilting selvage, and it doesn't need to be particularly heavy, but I would like it to be wool, and I would like it to be twill weave.

Does anyone have any suggestions for where to obtain such a piece of fabric relatively inexpensively?

I may have a remnant in one of my fabric bins at the shop.

I'll check when I get there in the morning.

I do know that I have an entire bolt of Black Watch in 12oz P/V.

Unfortunately, the WoolTartans.com site won't sell to America. Thanks, Steve; I'd appreciate it!

WoolTartans.com is the website of Fraser & Kirkbright Weaving Ltd. here in Canada. They are the folks who wove the first three runs of the X Marks Tartan.

Their U.S. affiliate is The Scottish Weaver. In the U.S. contact them for anything you see on the Fraser & Kirkbright site.

I bought from F&K a few months ago, have they changed their shipping policy?

That's a shame as their remnants include blue & gray with "55% Polyester/65% Wool". I'd love to have a 120% kilt!

    Good luck with the search!

Is this a recent thing? They've always shipped to me before.

I hope you can find a nice deal this side of the water.

If not, Scotweb can fix you up with the Marton Mills Jura (16 oz double width for a nice price), and up to a couple of kilograms can dispatch it via Royal Mail.
