    Box Pleat in Bear Tartan?

Who else is thinking about getting a box pleated kilt made in the Bear tartan?
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Hi Mein, I was looking over all the options. It's an eight yard or more order that's required, so a box pleat would, of course, be split between two box pleat kilts.

I'm getting fairly close to having saved up enough to purchase eight yards of Bear tartan, so I thought I would bring it up.

I did have a whole essay written up to post on the different options. I don't know what others are planning though.

It's sounds great Ted- exciting isn't it? My immediate thought is that the box-pleat would be less warm in your climate. I can send you a swatch, just send me your snail mail addie. I'll PM you about others ---

Got the PM, Mein, thanks. That could very well work out. I will probably send you a PM about the swatch; I forgot.

I do think that the box would be a little better for the heat. I also like that it is a more balanced weight between front and back as Matt has said. I do keep weighing all the options, though.

I know you've made a double box pleat before, I'm wondering what the difference in yardage between a box and a double box is?

Ok, Mein, I have sent the PM about the Bear swatch, thanks. Someone gave me a silver bear paw pin a couple of days ago. That would be really cool to put it on a BT swatch.
