A New Kilt on the way
Well folks, I sent my fabric to Barb and ordered a kilt from her; knife pleat to the yellow stripe. I'm so excited I can't stand it. I finally feel the jonesin' everyone has been speaking about.
I found it somewhat difficult to find picture of those folks that have an XMarks kilt wearing them. That might be a good thing to have. Anyway, it will be some time in July before I have mine but I'm so looking forward to it. There will be pictures once I have it in my hot little hands.

I have current AND pre-jonesing from Barb, so I know how you feel. I have fabric in her queue (16 0z Maple Leaf) and another 8 meters of Allen 1996 16oz waiting at home to be mailed to her for a Kingussie buildup. And to top that off, we are in discussion of ordering another 8 meters of custom woven Douglas Red Ancient for her to work her magic on. I am thinking that maybe I should just set up a line of credit with Barb T. Barb, if you are out there, do you have a layaway plan? (just kidding of course)
Since you are on the July timeline I should have my Maple Leaf before then so I can send pictures and let you know how happy I am with it (will be with it), just to make your jones that much more rich and fully enjoyable for you.

That's about right for the jones. Now come June you will be going crazy. Congratulations.

That's no joke. As Tom Petty once said, the waiting is the hardest part!

Congratulations, it will be a wonderful kilt.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Trust me, a kilt from Barb is well worth the wait! Last year I got in on the run of Carolina tartan the Matt Newsome did. I contacted Barb and now have a wonderful 8 yd. masterpiece as a result. It is, hands down, the best made kit in my humble collection.

Here's mine by Chattancat pleated to the yellow stripe. And yes, I'm wearing white (ecru) hose, but in this case it's deliberate.
One inverted pleat in the shot, but hey!
