    Any Campbells out there?

    Hey Friends,

I have a Campbell Ancient Kilt on order and was wondering if anbody out there had one and what color of hose do you wear with them. I know that black would work but what other colors would work.

    Follow the Duke!

A good example to follow would be His Grace, the Duke of Argyll, who frequently wears red hose with his kilt:

A good friend of mine who is a Campbell has picked this up, and I must say that it looks rather natty.

    Regards,

    Todd

Is it necessary that they match perfect or just in the neighborhood.

Hail clansman. My most recent kilt(2 weeks ago) is a USA Kilts semi-trad in Ancient Campbell. I bought some medium blue kilt hose from a shop in Michigan called Highland Fling. They match the blue in my kilt perfectly. I know they were made by HJ Hall. I have a pair in bottlegreen. I should have kept the tags.

The bottle green looks very good as well, I just do not have the right flashes to wear the green ones, yet. So, tomorrow it will have to be blue or black.

There is no need for the hose to match at all. This is somewhat of a myth, actually. As has been pointed out, your chief wears red , and even pink, hose with the kilt. So did his father. So do a great number of Highland Scots.

The only Campbell I know personally is a West Highland White Terrier, and he wears no kilt hose with his kilt. Since the Duke of Argyll developed the breed, Westies have as much right to membership in Clan Campbell as any other Sept.
