    me & PC

This is my new PC and waistcoat that I bought on Ebay. (I've since had the sleeves lengthened a bit.) I'm also wearing my oft-mentioned red cabled hose with my Lockhart tank. The sporran is a Buzz Kidder "ribbed Highlander".

My wife took this pic at our neighbor's place (at about 4:30 in the afternoon. Don't shoot!)

Ya, sleeves can be way off and everything else fits fine.

    Congratulations, glad you got it.

I love the hose, a very bold look, if I may be so bold though I think a Dress Sporran would finish of the outfit nicely.

Excellent photo. Can you tell us about the hose? Who made them?

Thanks to all who have seen and/or commented on my photo above.

Glen: I agree; a dress sporran would be nice to have. Right now, my funds won't allow it, although I might be able to barter some hose for one.

Sandy: I can tell you anything you want to know about those hose, since I made them. They're wool from registered Corriedale sheep, which are raised near Mars Hill in Madison County, western North Carolina (which is the greatest place on Earth). The wool is sheared and shipped to somewhere in Maine to be processed. Then it's shipped back to the shepherd whose wife sells the yarn out of their basement. My father's family is from Madison Co., so it's almost a connection, even though I'm not related to the shepherd.
The yarn is 2-ply, about the size of a pencil lead. I worked the hose on size 2 (US) double-point needles. I worked the cuffs separately, and sewed them on once the "socks" were finished. The best I can figure, there is about 18 hours worth of knitting in the pair.
Is that all you wanted to know, and then some? I tend to be a bit long-winded.

Oh cool! You knitted the hose yourself.
