Went to Brian Reagan Kilted

Had a wonderful date with my girlfriend last night. We went to see Brian Regan. I wore a black stewart sport kilt works so all the fringe buckles and sewn down pleats the whole shebang sport kilt offers. The I wore a black polo shirt and sandals. No sporran or hose flashes nothing. I got a lot of responses from it. More than I normally do. First when I was leaving to go pick up my GF there were some church people handing out flyers in the neighborhood. When I reached my car one asked "Are you scotch?". Well the only thing I could think of was if I was tape or an alcoholic beverage. I knew what she meant and said no I am not I just love kilts. The woman behind her said "Well, You look great. Very manly. I bet you also much more comfortable too." "That I am ma'am."

So me and my GF went to dinner and wondered the mall near the theater which really just got a lot of weird looks and one kinda rude question from a suit salesman. "Hey man what on earth do you have on?!" I said "Its a kilt!"

We got to the theater and there was a salesman showing off Mercedes benz. He had a little survey to get a free hat or wallet I wanted the wallet. So as I was filling it out a guy around my age (early 20's) came up and said "excuse me is that a kilt?" He was very excited by seeing it. I told him yes it was. He asked how much and I told him I got mine for around 120 from a company in California called sport kilt. He told me he was a big fan of braveheart and his buddy had been to scotland and that he thought the were all like 400 dollars. At this point I really wish I had made copies of seamus'es business card so I could have gave it to him.

Later me and my GF we went to the bathroom before getting a drink and find our seats. Obviously I took a much shorter time than she did so I was standing outside the ladies bathroom for a little while. I got a couple looks from women and a couple thumbs up. Well on group of older but fairly attractive females walked in the ladies bathroom just as my GF was just walking out. Well as my GF tells me they said something along the lines of "Did you just see that guy in a kilt!? HE IS SO HOT!" MY EGO ***. My girlfriend seemed to like the fact she had a BF that other women found hot. My ego was running very high at this moment.

Right before the show we met some friends that were going to the same show but not sitting anywhere near us outside our seats. It was my GF friend from back in high school and some guy she met at at her church, nice guy. Well I could tell he did not want to breach the subject of the kilt seeing as I never met him before. Well after a little bit we wanted to tell my GF friend about the ladies saying I was hot. So as we were telling the story he "How do you go to the bathroom in a kilt?" we all chuckled a bit then I said "Depends on why you in there but usually just lift." This made everyone laugh. He said "wow, that must be weird. Your a bigger man than me." LOL I tried a bit to convert him to the kilt side but he seemed reluctant.

Brian Regan was awsome very funny and nothing else really happened. But this was probably the most responses to the kilt I have had in one day. This was in a cheap slight altered sport kilt I could just imagine a much nicer kilt.

Brian is hilarious, I've seen him on TV a number of times. The only times I've been kilted at a comedy club was a few years ago when we saw Johnny "Bagpipes" Johnston. We talked to him after the show and he was impressed that I wore a kilt to the show. We also saw Craig Ferguson at the Rio in Las Vegas, I was kilted for that one as well. The best comment I got that night was from the older Korean waitress at the restaurant before the show. She looked at me all confused, then asked..."cheerleader"? It was all I could do to keep a straight face.

I don't know about being the talk of the town. Atlanta is a big city. It wasn't really a comedy club it was a 10,000 seat theater. I am sure I made a few peoples day though. I sure had a great time.

Yep this isn't my first time out, but this is by far the most responses I have had in one night. Granted I haven't been wearing kilt for more than a year. If anyone if worried about wearing a kilt outside in the everyday world should know this is fairly typical and you don't need a tank. Even the most basic kilt looks better than the typical pair of shorts or pants. Also if you kilt is tartan most people won't notice. Especially with the popularity of plaid short these days.

PS: why on earth are the plaid shorts that are so popular have to be so ugly!
