Greetings from El Sobrante, CA, USA
I am here to do research on tartans and kilt styles for an up and coming trip to Kilchurn Castle in 2010.
The purpose of that trip is to document the tower portion of the castle grounds with the idea to recreate the tower castle as it was when it was finished and brand new in a virtual world such as SecondLife. How wonderful it would be to virtually walk through that castle as it was, not as it is.
Any information on the Tartans used by those who occupied Kilchurn is welcome. Any information or links to information about the life and times of Kilchurn Castle are also welcome.
I do know that the Breadabanes lived there for about 500 years, though I have not confirmed this information at this time.
I have some Scottish (as well as Irish) blood flowing in me and a love for the land I've never been. Loch Awe and Kilchurn have called me for many many years when I first discovered the picture of it when the Internet was very young.
Glad to be here... ith:

Sounds like a fascinating project; best of luck with it and welcome to the forum. I can't help you with your info request, but you've come to the right place.
You might want to post a specific request about Kilchurn-related tartans in the "Tartans & Heraldry" forum and put the basics of the question in the title. That will help you attract answers.
Welcome from Savannah, GA.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
