Running with a Kilt
I am going to be buying my first kilt soon. I am specifically looking to get one to run road races in. I am looking at Sportkilts Original in either Army or Law Enforcement tartan.
Should I have the pleats sewn down?
Any suggestions for a newbie?
I was also wondering whether or not wearing a sporan would be advised?

I've ran some half marathons kilted.
A lightweight kilt such as the sportkilt would be preferable for this type of activity.
No need for basting stitches to hold the pleats together while running, on the contrary sewing down the pleats would restrict your freedom to run.
If you really need a sporran to carry personal effects you will need to keep it to the side, running with a sporran on the front can be VERY uncomfortable.

Brilliant! I'd never have thought of that one. Great stuff - have many been made and sold?
Cheers,

Sportkilt gives you the option of having the edges of the creases sewn-down to hold their shape. It's not a basting stitch to hold the creases together.

I have the original bolts of fabric.
The HHH Trail Tartan Running Kilt.
The HHH Hunting Tartan Running Kilt.
These Kilts have 2 1/2" Box Pleats, Velcro waistband closure, Edge Stitched Pleats, Full tailored Fell, and Pockets where you want them.
The Kilts can be Pleated to; The Mud, The Blood, or the Beer. (Brown Stripe, Red Stripe or Yellow Stripe.)
Sport Kilts also carries a similar Kilt in these same Tartans.
HHH got kilts?
On On!!!

Just because you are paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you.
