Two Roasts and a Crock Pot

The other day there was a sale on meat, so I filled my freezer. I didn't have room for two roasts... So early this morning, I plopped them into a crock pot and dumped in a bunch of seasonings and spices.

They cooked for hours and hours and hours!

Oh, so-----good; almost like corn beef. I ended up eating half of a roast because it was just too tender and tasty. I didn't think to get potatoes and all that stuff to throw in there, but I do have a bunch of beef stock now for soups and rice etc.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

And just where did you say you live? Just how long would it take me to get there?

I had hot wings for dinner, but I would never pass up a good roast from the crock pot. How could you forget tatters and onions and carrots?

I so love slow cooked meat.

    Best,

I know! I know! I should have all the fixings from my garden, but I've been having to move the gardens to a different side of the cottage... The flow of the Chi has been disrupted back there.

I do have an abundence of garlic, though.

That reminds me it's been a long time since I've made a roast. Now I'm hungry again.

I think one was a rump roast, and the other was chuck.

The rump was about a third fat, and all the flavor is trapped in there.

Well I have an 8lb pork picnic that's going on the BBQ Saturday morning for a long slow smokey roast. Can you say North Carolina Pig Pickin'?

I did the same... except instead of two roasts it was two pigs. Gotta love Florida and a healthy wild pig population.
