So this is Jonesing...
I'm getting excited and anxious, maybe even antsy. Almost two weeks ago, I ordered my first kilt: a BW Semi-Trad. I also got a sporran, sporran hangers, kilt pin, belt, and buckle (I could get hose and flashes from a local store).
I spoke to a lovely lady over the phone at USAKilts, and she was so helpful. I hate to be a burden calling, but I always prefer to do so instead of ordering online when buying something I have no experience buying. That way, I can have someone tell me if I'm ordering something silly that I don't want or shouldn't get or whatever. Next time (and I'm sure there will be a next time), I'll be ordering online.
Well, I chose rush order (because I knew I couldn't wait) and it's nearing the two weeks. I always scoffed when I heard about people "jonesing" (where does that term come from, btw?), but now I understand it completely. I'm practically giddy knowing it's so close. I can't wait to wear it to work or anywhere else. And, of course, I'll share pics as soon as I can.

where can one buy kilt accessories such as hose and flashes near catonsville? my best friend lived on rolling road and my wife is from arbutus.
as for "jonesing," it is a slang term born of the nyc new pop drug culture of the late 50s. heroin addicts would score their fix along great jones in greenwich village.
i guess xmarkers could just as easily refer to the painful wait for kilts and accessories as dancing with the devil or chasing the dragon...

There's a place called Irish and Celtic Treasures in Perry Hall. I guess it's not strictly local, but it's close enough.

The waiting is the hardest part! I'm waiting on a USAK myself--a semi trad in the Tara/Murphy tartan. No rush order though. I like to suffer...

"Jones" can be a fun time too, it allows you the opportunity to buy all the extras you will need for that new kilt you have coming, and plan for your next new one!
I don't believe the idea is to arrive in heaven in a well preserved body! But to slide in side ways,Kilt A' Fly'n! Scream'en "Mon Wha A Ride" Kilted Santas

Wait a tick.... 8 months? Is that normal for non-rush items?
Oh dear God... I may have to change my order if that's the case.
Here's how bad I have it...I actually had a dream last night that my Gunn kilt arrived. When I woke.... ohhh the disappointment.
