    Prince Charlie?

    Greetings,

I find myself needing a Prince Charlie jacket (and perhaps waistcoat). Any vendor suggestions? Has anybody been happy with any eBay sellers? Their price is sure OK! Quality?

    Thanks,
    Richard

As with everything else in life, you get what you pay for. Many of the "low cost" PCs on ebay suffer from poor tailoring (which results in an ill-fitting jacket) and are made from inferior grade fabrics. Your best bet is to save up a bit more of the hard earned stuff (cash) and buy your jacket from one of the vendors here on XMTS.

As a personal observation, I would suggest that you are better off in the long run buying a dress Argyll jacket in black, as it is far more versatile, given that it can be worn during the day, as well as in the evening, something one cannot do with a PC.

I agree with MoR. Unless you need the jacket for a formal event, an Argyle with waistcoat is far more versatile and as such, a better value for the money. Just my two cents worth.

I got mine from The Scotland Kilt Company. It fits great, great value. I got the Scottish Made, they have an "Imported" version as well that I've heard good things about. I've also bought a tweed from them that I love.

MacMillan of Rathdown makes an excellent point about the black Argyll's versatility. If you want a PC, it invariably comes with the matching waistcoat---I'd be wary if it did not.

It just so happens that USA Kilts is running a fairly astounding sale on both jackets. The current price on the Argyll and vest is less than the jacket alone.
