Was out and about with my wife today, I was wearing my SW Saffron, at our first stop, where we had breakfast. the comment I got was from a gentleman who stated that "that looks comfortable." I gave a short reply, that it was, very. Spent the rest of the morning shopping here and there, no further comments of any kind. At our last stop, met someone from my work, who has seen me before, kilted. He said, "nice skirt." I gently corrected him, by saying, "it's a kilt." He said he knew that. I know that he was kidding, he and I have had talks about my wearing kilts. All in all a nice day. We even went to a store we had never been before, it speciallizes in bison meat. Bought a roast and a couple of steaks. Cooking the roast right now.

My saffron has been in the closet a couple months now... I am not allowed to wear it until the wedding in October! Try that Jones, staring at you everytime you open the closet. "WEAR ME WEAR ME!"

Sounds like a good day. Bison is excellent meat. Unfortunately, when we moved to this area, stores that carry items such as bison are a 3 hour drive (one way.) Enjoy your roast.

How do you cook the bison? I know bison burgers should not be charcoal grilled. There is not enough natural fat and they get really tough, really fast. Not sure how to cook a roast or steak. Slow cooker?

I am using the pressure cooker. It turned out pretty good. I have had ground buffalo before, makes a great meatloaf. Trying to eat a diet with more grass fed meat, both red and white. My wife and I were vegetarians for many years, and vegan for several, but due to my wife's diabetes, have added meat back into our diet. I have lost about 33 pounds, mostly by cutting down on the carbs. She has her blood sugar levels down into a very normal range.

I'm impressed that you've lost weight giving up your vegetarian ways. My sister had to reconvert before she wasted away. I'm glad the diet helps with your wife's illness, my nephew is diabetic, it's tough on a ten year old.

I'm on an Atkins' diet list, and several people report that they are diabetics who no longer need to worry about symptoms nor take medication.
The medical world doesn't admit that diabetes can be cured, but it does appear that a significant alteration in the progress of the disease is possible.
Atkins, by the way doesn't consist of perpetual slabs of fried meat and eggs, not when done by the book. There has to be a lot of fresh vegetation, and I do mean a lot, and I do mean fresh.
Losing 12 inches off my waist is what brought me to making and wearing kilts. as I simply could not keep up with the replacement of clothing with more permanent shaping and sizing built in.
