Craig's wife, Diane, told me that she has been reading all the pages of XMTS condolences. She said that they were very touching and she needed to read them with a box of tissues close at hand. She said that she cried as she appreciated how much Craig was loved and respected.

She also said that she would appreciate any photos of Craig that people can send her. They can be sent to Craig's email address that you will find in the contact page in his XMTS profile.

If you haven't seen them, here are a couple of related interesting threads.

 Toast to Craig

FrankThank you for the information, it is sad that many of us will not be able to make it as our family has been diminished by the loss. Again all our best to Craig's family and friends.

After posting the details of Craig's memorial service, I want to add some personal thoughts and memories.
Last fall, shortly after I signed on to XMTS, I put a post up about a Kirkin 'o the Tartan at the church where I attend and work. I made it an open invitation to anyone in the Phoenix area that might like to attend. Three XMTS's showed up for the service -- Sionnach, Thunderbolt and Retro Red. That was my first introduction to Craig, and the others. Since we all live in the NW area of Phoenix, we developed a good friendship and would have our own kilt nights -- particularly at the new Irish pub in Peoria -- Lis Doon Varna.

Then the Saltire landed in my mailbox. I enlisted Craig to help me fly it around Phoenix for pictures. We had a great time taking in various landmarks, even looking for one that doesn't exist anymore. It was Craig's first experience riding the new light rail transit in Phoenix. He had the idea to hike it up to the top of Piestewa Peak for the sunset over Phoenix. And, then the next day he took it and made a trip by himself to northern Arizona and the Grand Canyon. If you know how Craig drove, the Saltire was probably scared speechless. That was less than 8 weeks ago.

The rest of the story started on Saturday, August 1, when I received a message from him saying that he was in the hospital and couldn't make a kilt night downtown, and to call him on his cell phone. You know the rest of the story....

I treasure knowing him. I'm only sorry that it was for so short a period of time.

My introduction to Craig was on May 6th of this year when Spartan invited this southeast valley (he's northwest valley Phoenix) new kiltie to join them at Lis Doon Varna for a kilt night. My wife and I decided it sounded like a good idea and joined the group.
I introduced my wife and myself to Craig. I introduced myself as Steve and he gave me a strange look. I then explained that I go by "Catdad" on Xmarks and he laughed heartily and responded "I thought you looked familiar. I recognized you from your avatar!"

We only met Red twice, but both times he was extremly friendly and made us feel welcome and that we have been a part of the group of the NW rabble forever. He always made my day whether it was reading some of his posts or just the simple PMs we exchanged a couple of times.

As Frank ended his reflections, I too echo that sentiment, I treasure knowing him. I'm only sorry that it was for so short a period of time.

Thanks Frank. I'll be there next Thursday. I have too many memories to attempt to follow suit and detail them out here at the moment. Thank you for taking point on all this and being the contact with Diane. You've been very helpful for the last few weeks, and I am extremely appreciative, as I know Craig was too.
