Raising a glass for Teddy
Here's some Tullamore Dew at ye, lad. Whatever your politics, he was a true son of Ireland.

Yes, a whiskey toast to him.
RIP.
He had the gift of gab, and the single-mindedness or stubbornness as you like.
And I did like it.

Even though I often disagreed with his politics, I recognize and respect him as one who gave a lifetime of service to the country. May his family find peace in this sad time.

I'll drink to that and put an old tune on the box, if I'm allowed....?

I had the honor of meeting the man. He was thoughtful, gracious and very humorous. He seemed to want to make me feel comfortable.
We have lost a national treasure and an ardent advocate. I'm with you in drinking to him.

He loved his country and served it for four and a half decades in the Senate. I'll offer a prayer for his passing and reflect on his service.
I'd also like to say that the grace shown by the posts below is one of the reasons I find this forum to be a worthwhile place:

I'm amazed how often I get my news from this board first thing in the morning. An expected passing, but still a sad one. Guessing he had a huge welcoming committee on the other side.
