    Hello from Glasgow!

Well, I made it. I'm in Scotland for the first time (Glasgow). The first kilt I saw was when I got to my hotel and struggling with my luggage and a kilted young man helped me out. The next day (today) Scotland is playing Macedonia and dozens and dozens of people are walking around in their kilts. Kilts are EVERYWHERE! It really makes me regret (and I know I'm gonna catch hell here) not bringing my kilt along. There is very little room left in my luggage and I'm in Scotland for a very short time in my travels (I'm in the UK for work, I go to Australia and New Zealand next). I know it is a poor excuse but what can I say? I just might buy one here. I've seen at least 5 kilt shops while walking around Sauchiehall Street and Buchanan Street (which is a super cool part of town.)
I have to leave for England in a day but then I have about 6 days off so I'm planning on coming back to Scotland to tour around and try and see everything I can. Any ideas for a fellow traveling on the cheap?

Its raining now and I HATE wasting my time here sitting in my hotel room I wanna see Scotland!

What no room for a kilt? You can always wear it on the way there, helllooooo!

Of course, if you were wearing it people would likely ask you for directions. Enjoy your stay and don't miss the opportunity to try a great Scottish breakfast and some haggis.

Apparently they now reckon Haggis was first recorded as being used in an English recipe from about 1400. I have gone off the stuff personally since I learned this. The English can have it IMO get some black pudding.

Jock's right. That is why wool sheds water so well, and also why they invented the "bumbershoot" (did I spell it right Jock?). That's an umbrella to us yanks.

Welcome to Scotland, but I just find it hard to believe there is an x-marker walking unkilted around Glasgow today of all days. Haste ye back to Scotland there will be plenty more kilts out there again on Wednesday when Scotland play their next match. If I were you I would buy a cheap kilt so as I could better blend in with the crowd.

I've been in Glasgow post-Hampden before but, aye, I'd rather it was this way, after a victory, rather than a defeat!

    Bring on the Dutch!
