Pulled the trigger again, big time
Yup. Couldn't stand it. Temptation jumped up and bit me again, twice this time, maybe more.
Scotweb had a clearance Ancient MacDonald 13 oz kilt in sizes just slightly smaller than my usual ordered kilt, but considering I have lost 15 pounds this summer I think I can fit into it now, at almost half what it would cost to custom it, after I used up my accumulated Scotweb points (they really do make a difference). This kilt is to replace a similar kilt that I have shrunk out of, even after moving the straps/buckles to try to bring it in a bit, it still slides off my **** unless I wear braces with it.
Then, after selling a rather pricey camera lens on ebay this week, I decided to use a part of those proceeds to patronize our own Keltoi Gaelic Clothing and ordered a much awaited Kingussie 16oz Marton Mills Jura in Caledonia Ancient (gotta love those colors), that I know I will have to wait probably 4 months for. And while I was there I hit the button again for a couple pair of custom hose (my first), Argyles for my Forrester Modern family tartan and ancient blue/green diced to go with my Ancient Douglas (and maybe the new Ancient MacDonald from Scotweb). Just could not pass by the benefit of the Canadian:US dollar exchange "discount", plus the 10% discount John (our own Slohairt) gives to xmarks members, plus the free shipping with the bigger order.
Feeling a bit guilty now, although I have been considering these purchases for a long time and they are being bought using "recycled" money from stuff I donh't use anymore.
One month or less jones on the Scotweb kilt (free slow boat shipping), 4 month jones on the Kingussie Ancient Caledonia (John's business must be picking up), uncertain jones for the hose as they may have to wait for the kilt to be finished to ship all together. Still have a couple other active joneses right now so I guess it will be a while till I get out of that cellar.
Submit to the power of the jones.

"Recycled Money." I like that. I blew in some of my "free money" that comes along as a result of getting paid every two weeks. Twice a year, there's a month with three paycheques in it.
Cheers, eh!

Recycled money... That's how I bought my Saffron from Keltoi.. Sold some kilts that I did not need, or want.
I slipped in line ahead of you, lol, by pulling the trigger on another kilt a couple weeks ago.. A rarity for me, because it was a impulse purchase.. another 4 yd box pleat..16 oz Lochcarron Strome O'Saffron...

So YOU'RE the guy who pushed my kilt back a couple more weeks, ehhh?
Yeah, love that recycled money---have to do some more scrounging around the basement, looking in some old boxes, see what I can find that I am not using and can be sold on ebay or craig's list. Keeps the wife happy in two ways---I am cleaning out old "junk" from the basement, and funding my kilt addiction/habit without hitting up the family finances. Heck, if the Scotweb Ancient MacDonald fits well, I may even put up the old too big one for sale or donation here on the forum. Will have to wait and see. Maybe not until I see the effects of this winter on my waistline, though.

No need to feel guilty (since it is recycled money) as long as the jones-ing doesn't kill you first.

I'm well ahead of you in the Keltoi queue, but everything depends on Locharron getting its act together and actually sending him the Highland Granite tartan. So we can share in the jonesing. If only we could head out together for an ale and antici............pate together ...
