total world domination- and the jacket for it
I mentioned in another thread my desire for a red Prince Charlie coatee. What I failed to mention is my acute and chronic lack of funds. The best price I have found is made to measure from Scotweb at just over 200 pounds, which is a hefty chunk of change. I would buy a red tailcoat and perform surgery, but haven't been able to locate one in my size ( 41 or 42, allowing for expansion) for even as low as that.
Bear in mind, Scotweb's PC is burgundy, which knocks out wearing it with Royal Stewart and any of the red tartans.
I am not so sure about spending that much to get most of what I want, if I could possibly spend a little more or a little less and get ALL of what I want. I am sure, once I have such a dream garment, that I can get the UN and others to send me One MILLION dollars, but I want to make sure I don't leave any money on the table in the acquisition phase. Who knows where to do this right and do it cheap, preferably at the same time? Or should I save my money for a shark mounted laser beam instead?
As always, pictures and recommendations would be greatly appreciated
Just think of me as Dr Evil's kilted competition.

I guess my first question is "Why a RED PC?" I have seen burgundy, forest green, and navy, in addition to the ubiquitous black, as well as at least one made in what appeared to be black Shadow Tartan material in another thread a while back. So what is it about red that you need it so bad?
Second, would you consider a doublet in red instead, as these are fairly easily obtained since some pipers bands wear them, and often the leader of a band may wear one with his baton?
If PC it is and it must be fire engine red you will likely have to have it custom made for you, either at a kilt shop with tailors, and independent tailor, or you may find someone here on the forum willing to give it a go.
If and when you do get it you MUST post photos, because this I gotta see. Good luck.

Believe it or not...

In the right red it can look smashing. But, if you get it just a bit off... shudder...
As for that Harlequin PC, it looks like something you'd see at the Jockey's Ball.

The Harlequin PC. . . simultaneously goes with any tartan, and none at all!
That is too much -- wonder what nightmare brought it on?

check out the tiny gent in the upper left hand corner of this page: http://www.highlandclans.co.uk/Kilt_..._Doublets.html
It may be a red dress mess, but it is certainly red. When I rule the world, I will be sure to take very good care of the guys in the harlequin PCs. http://www.highlandclans.co.uk/HLI118.gif

When I get mine, I'll be counting on you.
