It was great to see the recognition of the Scottish and Celtic heritage that was expressed at the Vancouver Olympic opening ceremony, the whole opening ceremony really brought to the forefront what many Canadians see as a major part of this countries heritage brought over in the late 1700's and early 1800's by many hard working, and oppressed Scots who emmigrated from Scotland's Highlands to lay the foundation of what would be one of the greatest countries in the world, shaped largely by Scottish/Gaelic influence.
Thanks to the organizing commitees for showing the world what makes us who we are is in no small part because of the sacrafices that Scottish immigrants to Canada made in those early days.
