    Unexpected ride kilted

well i now have time to recount my unexpected trip on Valentines day. My wife was taking a nap so I went outside to move a little snow and do some general storm cleanup. finished that and proceeded to enter the garage. I ended up on the floor not able to move or know where I was. My wife heard my screaming, she calmed me down then called 911. Next I knew I woke up in the local hospital er, not recalling how I got there or what day it was, very scary. I gradually came to my senses. But the really cool thing was I got a ride in an ambulance with a kilt on. Every one who knows I wear kilts wanted to know if I had a kilt on Yes, but I don't recall the ride, darn. (I did end up with a quadruple bypass six day later, doing well)

I had some arythmia, which caused the heart to beat very fast but it was not pumping blood, which in turn caused me to loose consciousness. had I not passed out a heart attack was likely in the very near future. As to the kilt reaction all positive except for my wife who does not approve

Mercy sakes! That's quite a story. Will you use it as a reason to not shovel snow during the next storm?

Wow - that's real verve: "I nearly died, I had my plumbing completely redone, but they LOVED the kilt in the process!"

Glad to hear you're on the mend.

    Rex.

thanks for the encouragement, the doctors told my wife if I had had a heart attack I proably would not have survived. No more snow shoveling. I am feeling quite good

Wow that's a power of the kilt story for sure! But seriously, I'm glad you're OK and hope you're feeling better. That's why we all have to get out there and do the things we enjoy doing, be it kilt wearing or whatever. It's funny but I have thought about this before -what if something happened to me while kilted? -pulled from a car wreck, ride in the ambulance, trip to the emergency room, etc. I would think that it would be easier to examine someone in a kilt than in P**ts. They usually take a scissors and cut up the leg to get at an injury.
