Bagpipers practice?
Any CA/East Bay Area pipers practice places? I would love to "listen", and wondering if anyone practices in Lake Merrit park in Oakland? Hope so!

Hmmm... about individual pipers, each one would have to be contacted individually, but you might be able to find out pipe band practice locations and times from their websites.
Many pipe bands post their locations/times and state that their practices are open to anyone who wants to drop by.
Up there in the Bay Area you have the Prince Charles Pipe Band (three bands in grades 2, 3, and 4) and the Bushmill's Irish Pipers (two bands in grades 3 and 4).
I'm sure both bands have nice websites.
Then there's the grade 4 McIntosh Pipe Band from San Rafael (well that's how their listed in the programme from the Highland Games, but these listing are often wrong, being the home address of whomever in the band mailed in the band's registration).
If you've never been, you should really get out to the
Caledonian Club of San Francisco's 145th Annual Scottish Highland Gathering & Games
held next Labor Day Weekend at the fairgrounds in Pleasanton.
I'm always there!
